Obama Morphing Into Bush For 20102 Re-Election Campaign

Steven Thomma (WASHINGTON) — He ran as the anti-Bush.

Silver-tongued, not tongue-tied. A team player on the world stage, not a lone cowboy. A man who'd put a stop to reckless Bush policies at home and abroad. In short, Barack Obama represented Change.

Well, that was then. Now, on one major policy after another, President Barack Obama seems to be morphing into George W. Bush.

On the nation's finances, the man who once ripped Bush as a failed leader for seeking to raise the nation's debt ceiling now wants to do it himself.

On terrorism, he criticized Bush for sending suspected terrorists to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and denying them access to U.S. civilian courts. Now he says he'll do the same.

On taxes, he called the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthy wrong, and lately began calling again to end them. But in December he signed a deal with Republicans to extend them for two years, and recently he called the entire tax cut package good for the country.

And on war, as a candidate he said that the president didn't have authority to unilaterally attack a country that didn't pose an imminent threat to the U.S., and even then the president should always seek the informed consent of Congress. Last month, without a vote in Congress, he attacked Libya, which didn't threaten the U.S.

Big differences remain between Obama and Bush, to be sure. His two nominees to the Supreme Court differ vastly from Bush's picks. Obama does want to end the tax cuts for the wealthy. He also pushed through a massive overhaul of the nation's health insurance system.

Yet even on health insurance, his stand wasn't so much a reversal of Bush's approach as an escalation. Bush also pushed through a massive expansion of Medicare by adding a costly prescription drug benefit — at the time, the biggest expansion of a federal entitlement since Lyndon Johnson's Great Society. Indeed, some of the differences between the two presidents are measured in gray, not black and white as once seemed the case.

Some of the changes in Obama can be attributed to the passion of campaign rhetoric giving way to the realities of governing, analysts say.

"He is looking less like a candidate and more like a president," said Dan Schnur, the director of the Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics at the University of Southern California. "He has discovered that it's much easier to make promises on the campaign trail than it is to keep them as president."

At the same time, some of the surprising continuity of Bush-era policies can be tied to the way Bush and events set the nation's course, particularly on foreign policy.

"Morphing into Bush was not a willful act," said Aaron David Miller, a scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. "It was acquiescence to the policies his predecessor shaped and the cruel realities that Obama inherited."

For example, Obama found he couldn't easily close the prison at Guantanamo Bay because he couldn't find a place, abroad or at home, willing to take all the terrorist suspects held there.

"Bush created, on the military and security side, new realities from which no successor, Democrat or Republican, could depart, "Miller said. "It's like turning around an aircraft carrier. It cannot happen quickly."

Among the ways Obama has reversed his earlier promises and adopted, extended or echoed Bush policies:

DEBT

In 2006, Bush had cut taxes, gone to war, and expanded Medicare, and increased the national debt from $5.6 trillion to $8.2 trillion. He needed approval from Congress to raise the ceiling for debt to $9 trillion.

The Senate approved the increase by a narrow vote of 52-48.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., voted no.

"Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally," Obama said in 2006. "Leadership means that 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership."

Now Obama's on the other side. He's increased the national debt to $14 trillion, and needs Congress to approve more debt. Moreover, Obama's aides now say that congressional meddling to use that needed vote to wrangle budget concessions from the White House would be inappropriate and risk financial Armageddon.

What about Obama's own vote against the president in a similar situation? A mistake, the White House said.

TAXES

As a senator and presidential candidate, Obama opposed extending the Bush tax cuts on incomes greater than $250,000 a year past their expiration on Dec., 31, 2009.

In 2007, he said he was for "rolling back the Bush tax cuts on the top 1 percent of people who don't need it." In a 2008 ad, he said, "Instead of extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest, I'll focus on you."

As president, Obama proposed letting those tax cuts expire as scheduled, while also proposing to make permanent the Bush tax cuts for incomes of less than $250,000.

But he didn't get Congress to approve that. When the issue came to a head last December, Republicans insisted on extending all of the tax cuts or none, and Obama went along lest the tax cuts on incomes below $250,000 expire even briefly. His final deal with the Congress also added a one-year cut in the payroll tax for Medicare and Social Security.

"What all of us care about is growing the American economy and creating jobs for the American people," Obama said. "Taken as a whole, that's what this package of tax relief is going to do. It's a good deal for the American people."

He said again last week that he wants to let the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy expire, this time on Dec. 31, 2012.

TERRORISTS

As a presidential candidate, Obama vowed a broad reversal of Bush's policies toward suspected terrorists.

Most pointedly, he said he'd close the prison in Cuba and try suspected terrorists in civilian courts, not in military tribunals.

"I have faith in America's courts," he said in a 2007 speech. "As president, I will close Guantanamo, reject the Military Commissions Act, and adhere to the Geneva Conventions. Our Constitution and our Uniform Code of Military Justice provide a framework for dealing with the terrorists."

He ran into a torrent of opposition, however. Members of Congress balked at transferring suspected terrorists to U.S. prisons. New Yorkers balked when his administration said it would try accused 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in a civilian court in lower Manhattan.

Last month, he changed course, saying he'd keep Guantanamo Bay open, and would try Mohammed before a military court.

The reversal, said Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, "is yet another vindication of President Bush's detention policies by the Obama administration."

Echoing Bush, Obama's also asserted that he has the power to hold suspected terrorists without charges or trial, and that he has the power to kill U.S. citizens abroad if his government considers them a terrorist threat.

WAR POWERS

During his campaign, Obama signaled that he'd be far more circumspect than Bush was in using military power. He did say he'd send more troops to Afghanistan, which he's done, and that he'd attack al Qaida terrorists in Pakistan, which he's also done.

But he opposed the Iraq war from the start, and said he didn't think the president should wage war for humanitarian purposes or act without congressional approval, absent an imminent threat to the U.S.

"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation," he told The Boston Globe in 2007.

"In instances of self-defense, the president would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent. History has shown us time and again, however, that military action is most successful when it is authorized and supported by the legislative branch. It is always preferable to have the informed consent of Congress prior to any military action."

On March 19, the U.S. attacked Libya on humanitarian grounds, absent any threat to the U.S. and without approval from Congress.

OBAMA " THE FINANCIAL THEFT ACT OF 2009"

I cannot believe that so many Republicans are supporting this stimulus package by President-Elect Obama. This stimulus package is worth a Trillion Dollars and it will rob our children of a solid economic future. This stimulus package will be full of pork and wasted projects that will not solve our economic crisis. There will be thousands of government jobs that will drain the coffers of the federal government for the next 50 years. President-Elect Obama is talking about creating green jobs that will help save our environment. "I Want To Know What The Hell Is A Green job". I tell you what a green job is a make work government job that does not make any damn common sense. I am tired of these Washington politicians trying to solve the Wall Street financial crisis with taxpayers dollars. The politicians in Washington need to come out in a united front and tell the American people that we need to ride out this financial crisis and support businesses that are successful in America and give them financial aide so they can create more jobs in America. This country is now rewarding failing businesses with bailouts and financial aide packages instead of letting some of these businesses go bankrupt and pay the price for there lack of business savvy. Finally, this is the beginning of a long four years when it comes to fiscal responsibility, because I expect President-Elect Obama to go on a spending spree and pay off all his Liberal Socialist friends who helped him become President Of the United States.

OBAMA "TRIlLLION DOLLAR DEFICITS"

President-Elect Obama is predicting Trillion dollar deficits because, of the Wall Street bailout and the Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package. Obama told the media that even if there was spending cuts that the deficit would reach the magical number of a trillion dollars in the near future. Obama said that "We are going to have to stop talking about budget reform". "We are going to have to totally embrace budget reform". The biggest problem that Obama has is managing the deficit is that the gap between revenues and spending and the swelling deficit, national debt and the amount the government borrowed to finance the debt. Obama has scheduled a news conference for today to make a personnel announcement related to budget reform and aides. Obama will incorporate some new provisions in his new American Recovery And Reinvestment Act to ensure the money is not wasted. There will be a special panel to monitor the use of the money so, it is not being wasted. There will be a website for taxpayers to monitor that the money is not be wasted by earmarks and political pet projects. Finally, Obama is predicting three million jobs but, there has to be some type of fiscal responsibility if this country economic system is going to survive. The trillion dollar stimulus package is a bad idea with the financial condition of America.

OBAMA "NEW CRIMINAL PARTY"

It has only been two months since, President Elect Obama won the general election and all hell has broken lose in the Democratic Party. The New Obama Democratic Party is full criminals and cheaters and they are some of his best friends. Hey! lets start with one of his best political friends in Illinois Gov. Rod Blagoveich who is under investigation for selling President-Elect Obama Senate Seat. President-Elect Obama was Rod Blagoveich campaign manger when he was first elected Governor of Illinois and one of his closet allies. President-Elect Obama knew that he was under investigation back in 2006 but he, still supported his re-election as Governor. President-Elect Obama best ally in helping him defeat the Clinton Machine Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico is under investigation by a Grand Jury for political contributions and other wrongdoings. President-Elect Obama still nominated this clown as Commerce Secretary one of the most important jobs in the Federal government. I want to know what happen to the Obama Transition Team vetting process which is being called perfect by the liberal socialist media. We have some funny business going up in Minnesota with the Franken-Coleman recount where the Franken and the Democratic Party is stealing a election right in front of our eyes. This helps explain why 25 precincts now have more ballots than voters that signned in to vote stated by the Wall Street Journal. Therefore, by some estimates that Franken has netted a extra 80 to 100 votes. This is my favorite because, it is the gift that keeps on giving and that is the United States Senate trying to stop Ronald Burris from being seated as Senator of Illinois. Gov. Rod Blagoveich legally as Governor appointed Burris as Senator so, how can the United States Senate use rules committee stop a man honorable man from being seated as Senator. The United States Senate under Harry Reid is breaking the law and there needs to be protests against the Senates criminal action. Finally, the new New Obama Democratic party has been drunk with power ever since he, was elected President. I hope that this is not serious of problems that will affect his administration during these troubled times in American History. There are many Americans excited that there will be a new President sworn in on January 20,2009. The biggest problem that the Average America has to face other than large unemployment lines is the falling dollar. The are plenty of analyst in the business community saying that the dollar will make a comeback this year with a upswing in the economy. The same people that told you that the 700 billion dollar bailout would solve America financial problems. I want to know how can the dollar make a comeback when the federal reserve keep cutting the interest rates every month. Therefore, when you see this happen the value of the dollar will continue dropping on the open market. The best person to listen in the business media is Peter Schiff were he, is openly saying that you should not invest your hard earned money in the American dollar but exchange your money for European currencies. The United States Government is going the way of 1920's Germany because, the only thing we are doing is printing money because, there are countries the around who will in the near future who will not finance out nations debt. There are countries around the world like France saying that after this financial crisis that we need a one world currency. This is the destruction of America right in front of your eyes when you see the dollar crash in the markets. The biggest sign that will tell you that the dollar is worthless is when oil rich countries will refuse to take dollars as payment for oil. Furthermore, they will start asking to be paid in Euros and that will be the death nail to the American dollar. The Obama stimulus plan will dig into a deeper recession because, he believes that the government will solve the nations financial crisis and that is the same mistake President Carter made when he was elected President. The future Obama Administration feels that the government can solve the all the nation financial problems government program but, we should let the financial markets correct itself and flush out all the bad corporations and Wall Street firms. Finally, if you want the dollar to make a comeback encourage Americans to save there money and pay off all there financial debts. The American government should set up a 15 year plan to payoff all our countries financial debts to forgein countries like China who we owe three trillion dollars.

The retailers facing record losses are asking President-Elect Obama to incorporate three tax free holidays in 2009. The retailers want this to be incorporated in the stimulus package bill. In October through December consumer confidence level were at it's lowest level in the last 50 years. We urge you to act quickly on this legislation to help so, that you can make consumer spending as one of your first priorities of your Administration the NFR Said in the letter. Therefore, under this proposal the Federal Government would reimburse the state governments for losing tax revenue. The letter also, stated without quick additional Government measure the current economic weakness could worsen creating rapid downward spiral that could be worse than the economist are predicting for 2009. The group supports Mr. Obama's effort to create a long-term stimulus package that will generate jobs by rebuilding the infrastructure and investing in public schools and alternative energy programs. In the third quarter spending fell 3.7% the biggest drop in 25 years. The fourth quarter results are expected to fall even more. Finally, who's next in 2009 to stand in line for there handout from the Federal Government. OBAMA STIMULUS PACKAGE "WILL IT WORK"

President-Elect Obama will be presenting a Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package in the next few weeks. This package will consist of money for large infrastructure projects in America. This stimulus package is estimated by the Obama administration to create three million jobs for laid off workers in America. This is a big gamble for the Obama Administration because large infrastructure project are ripe with over projections in costs and theft by organized crime. The Obama Administration seems to be copying the New Deal programs of the 1930's but they have to understand that the government programs did not bring us out of the depression it was the beginning of World War Two that help end the Depression in America. I personally believe that the Obama administration should invest in small businesses all across American because they create about 80% of the jobs in this nation. The Obama Administration should create a program called "America First" in which the government will only spend money with businesses that manufacture products in America with American workers. The government has to stop giving contracts to companies that sub-contract there work to overseas manufacturing facilities in China. This would stimulate the re-birth of new Manufacturing facilities in America if the United States Government verify that all products are made in America. The Obama administration has to think outside of the box and not just cling to the old left wing programs that they believe have succeed in the past. The main part of the package should consist of lowering corporate taxes and small businesses taxes. The corporate taxes in America are the second highest in the world. If you look at the corporate taxes in Southeast Asia you will find that they are the lowest in the world and they are our biggest competitors. Finally, I know that the Obama Administration will not lower corporate taxes because he is a left-wing liberal but he, has to understand that we are in a depression and it would be the best thing for a failing economy.

"A NEW AMERICAN REVOLUTION"

The way things are going in America today we may need a new American Revolution. The way are Federal government is run by the President and the Congress is unacceptable to most Americans. This Federal Government is bailing out some of the most "Notorious" Wall Street Firms in the history of American. These bailouts that the Federal Government is giving out to these Wall Street Firms without any consequences for there actions in destroying the American economy. There have been no arrests at Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and many other Wall Street Firms that have misused stockholders and investors money. The Federal Government has no control over there wild spending spree over the last six months and they are destroying are children's future. I wake up every mourning and hear that our new President-Elect Obama is going to spend a Trillion Dollars on a stimulus package similar to the New Deal. This could be a disaster because, anyone who knows history knows that the New Deal did not get us out of the Depression it was World War Two. I have a Governor in New York State who believes that you should tax everything that is humanly feasible for example this clown wants to tax you for buying shoes, soda, and any thing "Clown Ass" thing you can think of in your mind. This is unacceptable because, the average American is getting shafted from every angle they are losing there jobs and getting higher tax bills. The Federal and State Governments have to shrink there budgets to fit the harsh times that we are living in today. The Federal Government should not be a ATM Machine for every problem that a Bank or a Wall Street firm is having because of bad management. These firms should be allowed to fail just like any other small business in America. This Bailout money should be going to Small businesses because, they create most of the jobs in America today. Finally, if the Federal and State Governments don't get there act together there will be another American revolution and you will not see Americans with pitchforks they will have guns and they will truly want change.

OBAMA "TRIlLLION DOLLAR STIMULUS PACKAGE"

The Obama Administration will be presenting a Trillion Dollar Stimulus package right before he is inaugurated President Of The United States. This package will cover re-building the nations infrastructure and so-called job training programs. I know that President-Elect Obama is trying to solve a difficult problem with the economy but, to throw a Trillion Government Dollars at the American economy so, that Wall Street can be happy that is a tremendous mistake. President-Elect Obama has to understand that money does not grow on trees and that there has to be some type of fiscal responsibility when it comes to running a government. This Stimulus package does not include his first federal budget which more than likely will be over Three Trillion Dollars. This means in the first year of his Presidency he, will have spent Four Trillion Dollars of our children's money and we will probably have to bailout even more banks and firms. If you don't think that we are spending money like Germany in the 1920's you are highly mistaken. This could sink the nation into a deeper depression if this Stimulus Plan does not work, because of the lack of fiscal responsibility by Bush and Obama. The Obama Administration has to present a program to pay down our Nations Debt and Federal deficit. This nations debt when you add up all of our bills we owe about 50 Trillion Dollars in world Debt. The nations deficit is about 400 billion dollars and that could be managed if the economy turns around in the next two years. The Obama Administration should use the stimulus package on certain areas of the economy that will help the average American get jobs. Finally, we have to spend the taxpayers dollars wisely or we will eventually, run out of money and create a massive depression. Our federal government cannot keep throwing money at failed corporations and failed government policies. The Welfare State has to end or our nation will end up like a Third World Country.

"WALL STREET PIRATES" MONDAY QUICKIE

These Wall Street Pirates who have destroyed the American economy have to be held accountable for there illegal actions. The CEO's who headed these large Wall Street Firms should be arrested and indicted for there crimes against America. The average American is suffering because, of the lack competence and leadership by these CEO's who only care about how much money they can make in there quarterly reports to Wall Street. This failure of leadership has had a ripple affect and cost millions of jobs in almost every sector of the American economy. President-Elect Obama should give his Attorney General Eric Holder the responsibility of prosecuting these CEO's for there economic crimes. The head of Merrill Lynch Stanley O' Neil walked away with 150 million dollars and nobody is holding him responsible for destroying one of Americas greatest Wall Street Firms. The big problem I have is that we are bailing out these large Wall Street Firms and the leadership who destroyed these large firms are still in charge. The American people are tired of our government giving there money away to the so-called best and the brightest so, they can keep on making the same business mistakes that has put us on the brink of a depression. The only people who seem to be hurting is the middle and lower level employees at these large firms who are losing there jobs at a record pace because of the lack of leadership from these corporate executives. Therefore, when these companies take a piece of the government bailout package their should be a requirement that you cannot layoff thousands of employees. Finally, I know that there are people out there who say there is no law on the books against a firm for being incompetent but, there is a law against hiding the real value of the corporations stock and the value on the stock market.

AMERICAN RECESSION "MAY BECOME A WORLD-WIDE DEPRESSION" PART 3

I wrote my first article in January before the Wall Street collapse that this recession " May Become A World-Wide Depression". This economic recession or world-wide depression was started by a failed Liberal policy by letting unqualified homeowners get loans for homes they could not afford. The real serious problem that we, have in America is that we are 50 Trillion dollars in debt and we keep printing money if we were in 1920's Germany right before the collapse of the German economic system. The United States Government over the past 30 years refused to put together a plan that will make our Federal Government solvent again productive. The United States Government is spending money like drunken sailors and bailing out every failed corrupt corporate business in America. This lack of control over the Federal Government purse strings will mean disaster in the future for our children. The Federal Government is so, worried about calming the stock market but, they failed to realize that the greed on the Stock Market caused all the problems we, are seeing in the American economy. The American banking intuitions are so, bad that people have have large sums of money are putting there money into "Treasury Bills" at a negative or no interest rate at all on there money. This means that people are putting there money in these Treasury Bills so, that there money is safe and they are not even trying to make a profit out of putting there money in government securities. The reason why wealthy people put there money in these securities because it is guaranteed by the federal Government. The world economic system is falling apart because, the the United states economic policy have finally, started to affect the average American daily lives. This problem should be the first thing that President-Elect Obama addresses when he, is sworn into office. I know that President-Elect Obama wants a 750 million stimulus package but, that is only a temporary patch on a gaping whole in the American economy. Finally, I always talk about the foundation of a house because if the foundation is not strong the house will collapse. The Federal government must re-build a strong foundation and when it is re-built the American economy will again will be the strongest in the world.

PRESIDEN-ELECT OBAMA WORST NIGHTMARE

President-Elect Obama did not need this scandal during his transition into being the next President Of the United States. The President-Elect has enough in his table form the economy to terrorism to solve over the next four years. This is President-Elect Obama worst nightmare because, it brings up all his old Chicago connections that help him rise to power in Illinois politics. President-Elect Obama was on of Gov. Blagojevich biggest supporters when he ran for Governor in 2002. President-Elect Obama was also, a big supporter of Gov. Blagojevich in his 2006 re-election campaign and said some extremely, kind words about Gov. Blagojevich during a endorsement speech. President-Elect Obama supported Gov. Blagojevich even though everyone knew that he, was under investigation by the U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. President-Elect Obama was part of Gov. Blagojevich "Inner Circle" back in 2002 with his new Chief Of Staff Rham Emanuel that helped him get elected for the first time. They mapped out a strategy on how he, could become the next Governor of Illinois by bringing all the ethnic communities together in Chicago. President-Elect Obama has called for the resignation of Gov. Blagojevich but, he should be extremely, careful of what he, says about a man how knows where all the bodies are buried in Illinois politics. President-Elect Obama better have clean hands in this wide sweeping investigation because, I am telling you this right now if Gov. Blagojevich is convicted of any crime he, will sing like a gospel choir on Sunday mourning. Finally, President-Elect Obama knew when he, supported Gov. Blagojevich that he was getting into bed with a Chicago snake. President-Elect Obama should not be surprised if the snake bites you in the near future while, you sitting in the White House.

OBAMA "DAILY MACHINE FRIENDS"

There should be no surprise that one of President-Elect Obama friends Gov. Blagojevich was busted by the Federal Government for trying to sell his Senate seat. President-Elect Obama friends seem to be getting busted every other month by the Federal Government. The Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald just convicted Tony Rezko one of President-Elect Obama biggest supporters while, he was a State Senator in Illinois. Tony Rezko also, helped President-Elect Obama get his multi-million mansion on the South Side of Chicago. President-Elect Obama connections with the Daily Machine could come back and haunt him if any information about how he, ran his State Senate office while, representing the south side Of Chicago comes out in any testimony. The Daily Machine in Chicago has been under investigation by the federal government for several years . Patrick Fitzgerald has had dozens of convictions of high profiled Daily Machine Administration officials who took payoffs for government contracts. Gov. Blagojevich was helped by President-Elect Obama while running for Governor to get African-American votes because, he was not popular in the African-American community. President-Elect Obama has a serious problems when it comes to picking friends. Therefore, just let me name a few Tony Rezko, William Ayers, Rev. Wright, Gov. Blagojevich, Minister Louis Farrakhan and countless clowns that I don't want to waste my time writing about these scumbags. Hey! of course you know I am lying I love writng about these scumbags. Finally, President-Elect Obama ran on the word "Change" but the first placed he, should have tried to change is the corrupt City Of Chicago. President-Elect Obama did not challenge the Daily Machine in Chicago because he, became a part of flawed political organization that has run Chicago for the last 60 years. The "Word Change" was was just a slogan made up by David Axelrod to get President-Elect Obama elected President but, when it is all said in done our future President is nothing more than another political hack.

OBAMA STIMULUS PACKAGE "FOOLS GOLD"

President-Elect Obama will submit a 500 billion to "One Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package" to Congress as soon as he, is sworn into office. President-Elect Obama says that his package will create 2.5 million jobs and stimulate the American economy. The markets have reacted to the stimulus package by having positive days on the stock market nine out of the last ten days. The government money will flow through the American economy and create some stability in the economy but, it will not solve the basic problems in our economy that the foundation of our house is cracked and ready to collapse. The future Obama Administration has to address that we a 50 Trillion Dollars in debt and it has to be solved right now before house collapses on the American people. President-Elect Obama needs to tell the American People that they need to make a sacrifice in how much the federal government spends every year on there annual budget. The Federal Government spent 3.1 Trillion on the American people this year and that needs to be cut in half so, we can start paying off our debts to forgein countries around the world. The problem with the American economy will not be solved with these quick stimulus packages but, with a long range plan that will make the United States Government solvent again. Finally, the Obama Administration needs to come up with a 20 year plan that will solve our economic problems and put this country on course to being the strongest economic power in the world. This stimulus package sounds good to the American people right now but, two or three years later we will still have to address the real reason why the American and world economy is collapsing.

WOMAN PRESIDENT "NOT IN OUR LIFETIME"

The truth has to be told that there will never be a woman President in our lifetime. The glass ceiling in America remains firmly in place and you can expect the next few Presidents to be men. The glass ceiling was touched by Sen. Clinton as she won 18 million votes and came up 200 delegates short of becoming the Democratic Presidential nominee. Sen. Clinton was mistreated by the mainstream media and mostly by men and with the help of the Obama Campaign who unfairly casted Sen. Clinton as traveling do-nothing First Lady. Gov. Palin never came close to breaking the glass ceiling because, the Obama campaign and the mainstream media attacked her, as soon as she was nominated for Vice President Of The United States. Gov. Palin was ridiculed by the mainstream media and called incompetent even though she was voted one of the most successful Governors in the United States. The only difference between Sen. Clinton and Gov. Palin is there different political views but, they were both scorned and ridiculed by the mainstream media because, they were women who wanted the most prestigious job in the world. The way Sen. Clinton and Gov. Palin were treated by the mainstream media as they talked openly on nightly talk shows about there clothing and how they raised there children because, they were seeking the highest office in he land. Therefore, in this historic campaign nobody asked President-elect Obama about how he, raised his kids or how much money he spent on his custom made suits he wore during the campaign. The mainstream media questioned Sen. Clinton and Gov. Palin Qualifications but, they both were more qualified than President-elect Obama but, he happened to be African-America and a man and that is more sexy to the mainstream media. The glass ceiling in politics has a long way to go before it is broken because you first have to start with the sexist in the mainstrea media. The nomination of Sen. Clinton as Secretary Of State will not help crack the glass ceiling window because, she will be the third woman to hold the position . This is not the proper launching pad to become, the next President Of the United States. Finally, in the next 25 years you will be hard pressed to find a woman that in politics today who will ascend to the presidency in our lifetime.
