L.A. Times Delivers A Pro -Muslim Spin On The Ground Zero Mosque

Patterico's Pontifications - The L.A. Times today publishes an article by Borzou Daragahi about how Muslims across the world disapprove of opposition to the Ground Zero mosque:

The heated debate across America over construction of the so-called ground zero mosque is reverberating across the globe, with the potential of creating a worldwide black eye for the United States.

Many Muslims abroad are miffed by the stateside debate, largely conducted by non-Muslims, that has grown so loud as to become a topic of discussion on talk shows and newspapers from Bali to Bahrain, from Baghdad to Berlin. The proposed Cordoba House has become a symbol of America’s fraught relations with the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.

I don’t understand why anyone would discern hostile intentions from the builders. After all, t’s not like the project’s “moderate” imam Feisal Rauf is happy about the controversy, right?

“The fact we are getting this kind of attention is a sign of success,” Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf reportedly said Sunday with respect to the project, addressing a gathering at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in the Persian Gulf state of Bahrain.

“It is my hope that people will understand more,” Rauf said without elaborating, according to the AP.

Oh.

While the paper does report that quote in a separate article, portraying it as benign, the quote does not make it into this article.

That wouldn’t be good propaganda.

Amid a flurry of Arab complaints about the U.S. — we need to do something about Israel; we need to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan; etc. — the article does include the perspective of some Muslims that the mosque is a bad idea. See if you can figure out what aspect of that admission they leave out.

“Building a mosque there will increase hatred between Muslims and non-Muslims in the West,” said Gamal Awad, a professor at Cairo’s Al Azhar University. “It will further connect Islam with a horrible event.”

Al Aznar, eh? They’re the folks who declared the mosque a Zionist conspiracy — a little tidbit that the L.A. Times doesn’t tell you about.

That wouldn’t be good propaganda.

Are we seriously to believe that Borzou Daragahi, or his special correspondents — Amro Hassan in Cairo, Ranya Kadri in Amman, Jordan, Ramin Mostaghim in Tehran, or Meris Lutz in Beirut — elicited no anti-Semitic comments about the mosque being a Zionist conspiracy?

Or should we conclude, rather, that somewhere along the chain, such comments were deemed “unhelpful” to the agenda of the story?

Obama Moral Equivalence Speech

President Obama speech while, in Cairo, Egypt reminded me of my days in college when my college professors used to always make "Moral Equivalence" between the United States and Communist or Fascist Countries. My professors were part of the "Blame America First Coalition" and I always had conflict with my professors, for blaming everything that happened in the world on American foreign policy. President Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law school two of the most liberal institutions in America where the hate American First Indoctrination is part of the University Curriculum. The President speech yesterday was disturbing because he made some outrageous examples of moral equivalence when he, said that the Palestinians living in occupied territory was equal to the Holocaust and the women suffering oppression in the Islamic world is equal to the women movement in modern day America when Hillary Rodham Clinton is Secretary Of State. President Obama even took time in his speech to blame America for colonialism and Imperialism in the Middle East. These are just a few examples, of what President Obama said, in his speech to the Muslim world, but the most disturbing part of the speech is that I heard were the same complaints about America by liberals and socialist for the last 50 years. My problem with President Obama "Blame America First Apology Tour 3" is that everything I am hearing from President Obama is not his original thoughts but, the indoctrination of President Obama by his college professors, Rev.Wright and liberal socialist colleagues. Therefore, watching and listening to President Obama I have found myself saying that this guy is nothing more than a liberal brainwashed college student who repeats everything his professors ever taught him about American foreign policy failures. I am asking all my blog readers to search there hearts and minds to see if President Obama ideas on health care, environment, military or any other social issues is something that you have not heard from liberals or socialist for the past 50 years. President Obama has a serious problem with the past Presidents that came before him and made this country a great nation. President Obama believes that he is the "Messiah" and that he, can right all the so-called wrongs of past by admitting to our forgien policy mistakes. I am telling Conservatives all across this country that President Obama is a dangerous man especially, with the new Pravda Socialist Media supporting him 100%. President Obama will do everything it takes complete the liberal socialist dream of a Liberal Utopia.

Obama Speech to Muslim World

The President will spend most of his time praising the Muslim World during is worldwide speech in Cario, Egypt to a billion Muslims and Arabs around the world. The President has already said the United States would be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world with only 2.3 million practicing Muslims.The President did not count 70 countries with a larger Muslim and Arab population, when he made his erroneous statement. This speech will not highlight all the success that America has had saving Muslim lives all around the world. The President should make a statement saying that American military saved lives in Kosvo, Kuwait, Somalia, Lebanon and Iraq. President Obama should remind every Muslim that America has no history of occupying any nation or destroying it's native religious culture. The President should highlight that America is a beacon of light when it comes to practicing any religion and a tolerant nation when it comes to discussing political, religious and social issues. President Obama said in a interview that he, did not believe that our Democratic values should not be pushed upon the Arab and Muslim world. The President must say that our war is not against Islam but, against "Extreme Islamic Terrorist Muslim" groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qeadea who have perverted the the religion of Islam. The President must make a strong statement saying that there terrorist actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances in the Free world. The President should not spend time apologizing for President Bush and the War in Iraq because, the Muslim world has no respect for leader who constantly apologizes for the perceived failures of American foreign policy. The President should tell the freedom loving people Arab and Muslim world that America has given the Islam a taste of "Liberty and Freedom" in Iraq and Afghanistan. The American people has given our greatest commodity for freedom and justice around the world our young American solders.

GAZA "ANTI-SEMITISM IN EURPOE"

Anti-Semitism is rearing it's ugly head in Europe again because, of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The true feelings of Arabs in Europe are coming out in these large protest that are engulfing the major cities of Europe. There have been cocktail bombs tossed at Jewish Synagogues in Belgium and other European Countries. The Muslim extremist have attacked Jewish families in the city of Antwerp where they tried to torch a families house. The neighbors notified the local police and the fire department so, they could extinguish the fire. There have been large demonstrations where Muslim and Left-Wing activist have sprayed swastikas on Jewish owned shops in Europe. The police arrested 50 rioters for there conduct and there hate speech. The Jewish community in Belgium are planning a large protest in support of the IDF this coming Wednesday. Therefore, on Sunday 600 activist both religious a secular leaders showed solidarity at Antwerp's biggest Synagogue for the Soldiers in Gaza. Finally, the hatred and the Anti-Semitism that you are seeing in Europe is the tip of the iceberg with a growing Muslim population in Europe. The Governments in Europe will have to take some serious steps to protect Jewish families in Europe in the near future.
