Is The EPA Supressing Or Witholding Information On global warming

Top Republican leader Sen. James Inhofe has asked for a investigation into the EPA alleged suppression of a report that questioned the Science of global warming. The 98 page report co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as way way of reducing global warming. Carlin's report said the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even atmospheric carbon dioxide level have decreased, global temperatures are declining. "He came out with the truth". They don't want the truth at the EPA. Sen. James Inhofe, a global warming skeptic, told FOX News.com he has ordered a investigation. "We are going to expose it". The controversy comes after the House Of Representatives passed a landmark bill to regulate greenhouse emissions, one that Inhofe said will be "Dead on Arrival" in the Senate despite President Obama Energy Adviser voicing confidence in the measure. A EPA official told Fox News.com that Carlin who is a economist not a scientist included no original research in his report. The official said that Carlin has not been muzzled in the agency at all "but stressed that his report was entirely "unsolicited". Dispite the EPA official remarks Carlin told Fox News.com on Monday that his boss National Center Of Environmental Economics Directors Al McGartland, appeared to be under pressure to reassign him. Carlin said the he does not know if the White House intervened to suppress his report but it is clear "they would not be happy about it if they knew about it, and McGartland seemed to be feeling the pressure from somewhere up in the chain of command. Carlin said McGartland told him he had to pull him off the climate change issue. Carlin said he, personally does not think there is a need to regulate carbon dioxide since, Global temperatures are going down". He said his report expressed a "good bit of doubt" on the connection between the two. The report noted that global temperatures was on a downward trend for the last 11 years, that scientist do not necessarily believe that storms will become more frequent or more intense due to global warming and that the theory that temperatures will cause Greenland Ice to rapidly melt has been "greatly diminished". Finally, Carlin said that he is concerned that science is being decided at the Presidential level.

The White House says the stimulus package has created 21,000 highway and transit jobs as of May 31. The number, one of the first counts of actual stimulus based employment is based on state reports to Congress House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Thousands of indirect jobs were created such as deli employees who prepare lunch for construction workers who produce the steel for projects were also created or sustained jobs. The White House says that 787 Billion Dollar Recovery Act has created or saved 150,000 jobs in the Administrations first 100 days. The President said during a speech a week ago that the stimulus package created or saved 600,000 jobs. The cost of one stimulus job is $92,000 per job according to the White House formula. Congressional Republicans who have blasted the Recovery Act as wasteful spending and won't create the number of jobs promised took issue with the Administration figure. Republicans criticized the Obama Administration for not reporting a specific number of jobs created or saved by stimulus plan based infrastructure spending. Republicans on the Transportation Committee pointed out the only 21,000 jobs were created , though the Committee Democrats have said the 64.1 billion dollars in infrastructure spending would create 1.8 million jobs. Republican leaders have slammed the Obama Administration for failing not to stem the rising unemployment rate. The unemployment rate is 9.4% in May and is expected to reach 9.6% in June when the new numbers are released on Thursday. The Democratic Party have made plenty of promises about putting Americans back to work but I think the question is where are the stimulus package jobs?. Finally, after spending almost a trillion dollars there better be some jobs by the end of the summer if Democrats want to stay in control of the Congress in the 2010 mid-term elections.

Michael Steele, Spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner, said Chairman Conyers has the responsibility to explain who is blocking the investigation and Why? Who in congress is blocking the investigation into ACORN and covering up ACORN corruption. It is no wonder pressure was put on Conyers not to hold the hearings. Obviously, it would have rekindled the criticism and financial ties and close cooperation between President Obama campaign and ACORN and it sister organization after he, paid them $800,000 to register voters. ACORN and it's Affiliates are under investigation in 14 states related to voter fraud in the election and a "RICO ACT" complaint filed by former ACORN members. Mr. Conyers has frequently defended ACORN and had previously complained about a FBI voter fraud investigation against the organization. Apparently, he has joined the growing list of Democrats, such as Rep. John Murtha and Viscoklsy that being looked at with suspicion of tainted behavior. Finally, ACORN are the foot soldiers for the Obama Administration and their is no way there will be a Congressional Investigation into ACORN. Jobless Claims All-Time High As States Borrow Money

The government checks that keep the average American a float are running out fast. The reason why? The United states is obligated to pay benefits to the swelling ranks of jobless Americans are piling debt onto strained state budgets. Fifthteen states have depleted there unemployment insurance funds so, far forcing them to borrow from the United States Treasury. A record 30 out 50 states are expected to have to borrow up to 17 billion dollars next year said Rick McHugh National Employment Law Project, a nonpartisan advocacy group. We are setting the stage for big pressure for states restrict eligibility and benefits levels McHugh said, Those type of restrictive actions undercut "The Depression Era programs" economic and social stability purpose. The state run unemployment insurance programs are normally, financed with payroll taxes paid by employers on each worker. But the funds tax revenue are falling as at the same time benefits demands are rising. Nine million Americans are receiving job benefits, triple the number who got checks at the beginning of last year. Experts predict the number of recipients will peak sometime this summer as long-term unemployed run out of benefits, which recently extended to 59 weeks in most cases. The majority of states did not see the recession devastating impact and failed to create a adequate cushion in there unemployment insurance funds may seek a raise in payroll taxes meeting resistance from employers, experts have predicted. State unemployment taxes will have to go up, but unemployment will have to come down said Andrew Stetter of the National Employment Law Project. The 787 Billion dollar stimulus package offered the states 7 billion dollars to expand who qualifies for unemployment benefits, and extend the length of time benefits are paid to 59 weeks from 26 weeks. The package allowed states to borrow money interest free through 2010 but must be repaid. The economy has shed more than 500,000 jobs in each of the first four months this year and the jobless rate is expected to reach 10% by the end of the year. Michigan, which of all states have the highest unemployment rate in May 14.1% has doubled borrowing for it's unemployment insurance fund to more than 2 billion dollars since the beginning of this year. California owes the federal treasury $1.5 Billion and New York owes $1.3 billion up from $358 Billion in January. Jobless benefits are typically about half of the workers last salary. The checks often supplement meager earnings from part-time or temporary jobs. Finally, the federal and state government may have to extend unemployment benefits another 13 weeks because there will be millions of Americans who will run out of benefits. The Congressional Budget Office did a analysis on the Cap-And-Trade Bill sponsored by Waxman-Markey Bill. The CBO said the climate legislation would cost the average American Household only $175 a year by 2020. Waxman and Markey explained to the press conference that Cap-And-Trade Bill would cost the average American no more than a postage stamp. To get support for the Harry Waxman was forced to water down the cap in the early years to please rural Democrats and then ratchet up in the late years to please liberal Democrats. As the cap tightens and companies are stripped of there intinal opportunities to to offset the emissions, the price of the permits will skyrocket beyond the CBO estimate $28 per ton of carbon. The corporate costs of buying these permits will be passed on to the consumers. The biggest problem with Cap-And-Trade Bill is CBO analysis of the day-to-day costs for operating a trading program rather than wider consequences energy restrictions would have on the economy. The hit to the GDP is the real threat to this bill. The whole point of the bill is to raise prices of electricity and gas so Americans will use less energy. The higher prices will show up not just in electricity bills or at the gas station but in every manufactured good, from food to cars. Consumers will cut back on there spending, which will turn back production of goods. Which results in fewer jobs created and higher unemployment. Therefore, some companies will instead move there operations overseas with the same result. The Heritage Foundation found that the Cap-And-Trade Bill will cost 161Billion Dollars in 2020, which is $1,870 for a family of four. As the Bill restrictions kick in the number will rise to $6,800 for a family of four by 2035. There were three amendments offered by Republicans. If gas reached $5 gallon, unemployment reaches 15% and if electricity prices rise over 10%. Finally, Americans should know that those members of the House who vote for the climate bill are voting what is likely to be the biggest tax in American history.

California Fiscal Crisis And IOUs

The State Of California will be issuing IOUs in a week if lawmakers in California cannot solve the 24 Billion dollar budget deficit and the state Treasurer is planning to tap the states reserve fund to meet the state debt crisis. The crisis reached a boiling point when lawmakers could not reach a deal on 11 billion dollars worth of budget cuts. Therefore, next Wednesday the State Of California will start the year with a unbalanced spending plan and a cash shortfall. The state Controller of California John Chaing said that he, would be forced to use IOUs to pay the states bills beginning July 2. The states 2.8 Billion Dollar shortfall grows to 6.5 Billion dollars in September and after that you will see double digit shortfalls. Chaing said the inability for the state, to balance there checkbook will now mean short changing taxpayers, local governments and small businesses. State Treasure Bill Lockyer meanwhile, is ready to draw on reserves for economic recovery sales tax bonds for the State Of California. The government dipped into the same reserve fund to make a principal payment on the economic recovery bonds, but was able to top the reserves back up within days. The 11 Billion dollar cuts failed down party lines in both houses in California, Republicans saying it shortfall of the savings needed and amounted to posturing by Democrats. Standard and Poor's said it will review the state economic recovery bond, or ERB rating after further projections as to the size and timing of potential draws on the ERB's reserves. The bonds were approved by state voters in 2004, to help the state through another financial crisis and are secured by sales taxes and general obligation pledge by the state. If California draws on debt reserve funds are rare and likely to send make waves in the financial markets. Finally, this budget crisis reflects the strain on cash flow and may signal a situation that leads to a temporary disruption of normal debt services payment. The executives at ABC News are saying that they are not in the tank for the Obama Administration but, will they give Republicans and doctors who disagree with the President Health Care Plan a two hour infomercial. The media outlets that are on President Obama bandwagon will not ask him any serious questions about his policy failures but there are several bright lights in the white house media. The questions asked by Jake Tappper and Major Garret drew some fire from President Obama because he, is not use to answering tough questions from the fawning media. President Obama would have a nervous breakdown if he, had to answer the tough questions President Bush had to answer for eight years. Finally, the Media has to stop these coordinated question and answer sessions with President Obama. This is why all the ABC, NBC and CBS ratings are at a all-time low because the average American knows that the media is in the tank for President Obama.

Welfare Rate Jumps In America

The Welfare rate in America has seen a higher than expected increase during this recession. The welfare rate in America has not seen this many Americans collecting benefits since, the Clinton Administration. The welfare rate has jumped in 30 of the largest states in America which accounts for 90% of the nations population. This recent rise is welfare applications across the country is a sign that the welfare system is expanding at a time of need during this recession. The biggest jump are in the western region of the United States in California, Oregon and Nevada. This is a serious problem for the states because most large states like California and New York are running huge deficits and more Americans on the welfare rolls are putting a serious strain on the states coffers. This also, means that there are not enough well paying jobs so, Americans can get off the welfare rolls. The number of food stamp recipients has risen in every state and was 20% higher than a year ago, a much bigger increase than the number of welfare cases. The are some great programs that were created during the Clinton Administration that helped unemployed workers receive benefits and job training to re-enter to job market with new skills. The cash assistance program called Temporary Assistance For Needy Families (TANF) was created by the law and replaced previous welfare and jobs training programs. This program is funded partly by the federal and state government,s it's primary job women who have children and no job or a very low paying one. The Obama stimulus package included 5 billion dollars for states where families receive welfare or spending increases on employment subsidies or short term emergency assistance. Therefore only two states have applied for this new program California and Ohio and but 40 other states plan to apply for the new program. Finally, the biggest problem with welfare it is targeted for women and children and this recession has hit men the hardest. The huge jump Welfare benefits is that men and married couples are now filing for the programs during this recession.

14% Unemployment In Michigan

President Obama promised American people if Congress passed his 787 Billion Dollar Stimulus Bill that the unemployment rate would not pass 8% nationally. The President has revised his numbers and said that the unemployment rate will reach 10% when the new June figures come out in early July. In, May the unemployment rate has reached 14.1% percent in Michigan and in Oregon, South Carolina and Rhode Island the unemployment rate is over 12%. There are large states like California and Ohio creeping up to 12% and that is not counting Americans who have stopped looking for jobs. The West and the Midwest by regions have the highest unemployment rates. The West has a average of over 10% unemployment and the Midwest is creeping up to 10%. The national unemployment rate is 9.4% and climbing fast and the President stimulus package is not stimulating the economy. The economy has been hit hard by the loss of manufacturing jobs in the automobile industry with the closing of several plants in the Midwest which is driving up the unemployment rate in Michigan and Ohio. The President had a great opportunity to stimulate the economy by passing a "targeted stimulus bill" that should have been only for job creation. The majority of the stimulus package money went to bailout states financial problems instead of spending the money on projects that could create jobs within six months. Therefore, in the stimulus bill there was no money for small businesses which create about 70% of the jobs in America. The President has spent most of his time bailing out large multi-national corporations like General Motors, Chrysler, AIG and Bank Of America. President Obama forgot about the true engine that drives the American economy and that is America's Small businesses. The President needs to come up with a new innovative strategy that will create jobs in the future. This so-called "Green Jobs Initiative" is Bull Crap and the average American knows that these are special interest jobs to satisfy the left-wing Democrats in America. The American people need a new futuristic jobs program that will help American businesses compete for the next 100 years. The President should lower taxes, cut capital gains and supply businesses with much needed capital if they are creating jobs. Finally, the President need to stop the Renaissance of the FDR Great Society Programs and come up with some new strategies that will inspire Americans to create a whole new American economy.

John McCain and Republicans who asked President Obama to show more support for the revolution in Iran. Where was President Obama with this quote early this week before the crackdown by the Iranian Secret Thug Police. The Iranian Secret Thug Police shot and killed a young lady name Neda in the streets of Tehran. One of her fellow freedom fighters stood over her trying to stop the bleeding from her chest with his hands. The video is extremely graphic showing blood squirting out of her chest. This young lady Neda will be a historical figure in Iranian history when the freedom fighters in Iran win there freedom from these Islamic Fundamentalist Thugs. The large protests around the country of Iran Thursday mourned the death of these courageous soldiers for freedom in Iran. These massive protests have put the hard-line Islamic regime on the defensive for the first time in 30 years. Mousavi has the backing of the majority of Iranian's who are under the age 0f 30 years old. The Ayatolah Khamenei has ordered the "Guardian Council" to review the election results from June 12 and investigate any claims of fraud by opposition leaders.The "Guardian Council" has asked opposition leaders to attend a meeting on Saturday including Mousavi. The Guardian Council has received 650 complaints of voter fraud. The Guardian Council will have limited recount of votes in districts where candidates claim voting irregularities. I am asking all my blog readers to search there hearts and minds to see if President Obama ideas on health care, environment, military or any other social issues is something that you have not heard from liberals or socialist for the past 50 years. The President must make a strong statement saying that there terrorist actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances in the Free world. The President should not spend time apologizing for President Bush and the War in Iraq because, the Muslim world has no respect for leader who constantly apologizes for the perceived failures of American foreign policy. The big issue is how can President Obama secure a deal if there is no unified Palestinian Authority when the terrorist group Hamas is in control of the Gaza Strip and the PLO does not even control the street there headquarters is located on in the West Bank. This problem must be discussed with the Arab countries leaders to try and regin in the two terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah so, there could be some meaningful peace negations in the near future. The President must also, discuss the serious problem with Iran in trying to develop a nuclear bomb and there support for Hamas and Hezbollah. The President should make strong statement on Iran saying under no circumstances will Iran be able develop a nuclear weapon. The President should also, ask every Arab and Muslim countries for help in stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. The President should not go to Cairo, Egypt and start apologizing and criticizing our friend Israel for building new settlements and occupying certain Palestinian territories. The Israeli military is only occupying these territories because the terrorist organizations like Hamas is using the land to launch attacks against Israel everyday. The people of Israel want a peace deal but they will have to be guaranteed security from these terrorist organizations who are hell bent on destroying the country of Israel. The President truly, believes if you apologize enough to your enemies maybe they will become one your best friends one day in the near future.
